This class is for knitters who already know the basics of Portuguese Knitting and want to learn how to work Brioche using the Portuguese method. You’ll learn how Brioche stitches form pairs, how each row is worked in two passes, and how to manage tension and gauge. We’ll cover all the essentials: cast-ons, set-up rows, BRK, BRP, edge treatments, increases, decreases, and elastic bind-offs.
After building the foundation, the class moves into two-color Brioche—both flat and in the round—plus syncopation, shaping, and how to read Brioche charts. You’ll also learn how to avoid common issues such as losing stitches at the beginning of the round and how to keep track of yarn positions and color order.
I’ve made the introduction free to watch so you can get an idea of what we will cover in this course. Click on “Introduction” in the Class Content section below to access the video.
